About This Event
The 10th Annual Race for Young Life 5k will take place on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010. The Race for Young Life was selected as one of the "CARA Best of Chicagoland Race. (CARA is the renowned Chicago Area Runner's Association.) This popular, Fourth of July weekend event, will be include tons of family fun, including a post race parade and a carnival. Proceeds will be contributed to Young Life, a non-denominational Christian ministry that has been meeting the needs of teenagers for over 55 years.

What is Young Life?
Young Life is an international, non-denominational Christian ministry that has been meeting the needs of teenagers for over 55 years. They help kids deal with the stresses and temptations of adolescence, providing them with wholesome fun, adult Christian role models and a chance to learn more about the Christian faith. Parking
Plenty of parking is available. Sites include Immanuel Lutheran Church and Gateway Center Parking Garage in downtown Palatine, IL.

Directions 
Coming from Chicago: Heading West on I-90 exit North on Route 53 and take to the Palatine Road west exit. Head west on Palatine Road to Plum Grove Road. Turn right on Plum Grove Road and turn left on Wilson Road to arrive at the starting area.
Coming from the Elgin: Take 90 East to Route 53 and exit at West Palatine Road. Continue on Palatine Road to Plum Grove Road and turn left on Wilson Road to arrive at the starting area.
Coming from the South: Take 290 North. 290 becomes Route 53. Continue and exit at West Palatine Road. Take Palatine Road to Plum Grove Road. Next turn onto Wilson Road and arrive at the starting area.
Coming from the North: Take 294 South to Willow Road. Exit going west on Willow Road. Willow Road becomes Palatine Road. Take Palatine Road to Plum Grove Road, turn onto Wilson Road and arrive at the starting area.

Awards
- Medals will be given to the top overall runner for men and women, as well as the top three in each age group. Age groups for awards: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
- Running Unlimited Gift Certificates will be given to the top Male & Female Finishers and all Male & Female Age Group Winners.

Amenities
All pre-registered participants will receive a custom designed t-shirt and goody bag.

Cyldesdale Divisions
We regret to inform you that we will no longer be including the Cyldesdale division results/awards in our race.

Packet Pick-Up and Race Day Registration
Participant Packets and Bib Numbers will be available at Running Unlimited (451 W. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067) on Thursday, July 1st (11:00 am to 9:00 pm) and Friday, July 2nd (11:00 am to 6:00 pm) or may be picked up the morning of the race at "base camp" at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
*Pre-registration packet pick-up and race-day registration opens at 6:30 am and closes promptly at 7:30 am.*
